Friday Futures Series
Friday Futures #6- Blank
I'll be the first to admit FF9 was probably one of my least favorite games in the franchise. I know it payed homage to the older style of play and game design but it felt to pre-school for me. However, there were some fantastic characters peppered (hope people pick up on the chocobo side quest joke there) through the game and I want to focus on my favorite among those.
The Tantalus troupe was such a great little intro into the game and helped define Zidane's character throughout. Of all those rapscallions, Blank ranks #1 in my mind of minor characters that I loved. I really enjoyed getting to have him in my party in the beginning and wished I could have used him more throughout the game, sadly he had to go and get....well no spoilers I guess. Either way, I wanted Blank to be as cool in the card game as he was in the real game, and send some love to FF9, since it was so hard for me to do.

When blank enters the field you may return a card named "Zidane" from the break zone to your hand. Blank must block if able.

Even though I loved Blank's character, you didn't have the chance to make him super strong, thus he got a lower power. I figured the recursion on Zidane was very flavorful since he basically saves him in the game, and the must block clause ties into the aspect of his sacrifice in the forest. I would love to have given him some benefits on having other Tantalus troupe characters on the battlefield but since he has such a short amount of time with us in game, I didn't want to go to deep on him. Either way, hope you enjoy and as always see you next time!
And if you don't think I'm a ladies' man, you're wrong.
