Deck Tech #8 Mono Fire Warriors of Light
How it works:
Mono Fire Warrior of Light is a deck that wants to be on offense quickly, but that does not always mean it wants to play every Forward right away. You will want to play one or two Forwards early to apply pressure to an opponent. This deck has a swell to it, through cards like Warrior and Warrior of Light that give your Forwards more power at certain times, and you’ll want to exploit the timing of those effects strategically. The early reaction to your Forward assault by an opponent will be to play better Forwards to defend, and if they do not play those Forwards efficiently, you can force them into poor blocks and gain an advantage they will not recover.
The most important cards are …
… Aigis and Gadot, because these two have synergy that is extremely powerful and many of your other forwards will not perform as well without them.
… Phoenix, because you can bring in Warrior of Light on offense or defense and blow out an opponent’s turn.
… Vermillion Bird L’cie Caetuna, because she represents an immediate response to Kam’lanaut as well as an ability to find any summon you might need to push aggression or remove other threats.
Should you play this deck?
If you enjoy aggressive decks that have some synergy, yes. There are ways to customize this deck and through Aigis, Wol, and Phoenix, there are efficiencies and recursion that add strategy and fun.
If you are strictly a competitive player, yes and no. This deck is powerful, but not as consistent as other meta decks. The learning curve is not steep for Mono Fire Warrior of Light, but the skill ceiling is high. You must play backups early while also prioritizing Forwards, so efficiency is key. You’ll likely find one “push” and the timing of when you try that “push” is critical, so this requires knowledge of your opponent’s deck as well.
